Investment Analysis Basics
Starting in October 2025, we're opening a practical program for anyone curious about financial markets. Not for day traders chasing quick wins, but for people who want to understand what they're actually looking at when they invest.
Reserve Your SpotHow the Program Works
We built this around the way people actually learn — starting with context, moving into application, then letting you try things yourself. The whole thing runs for twelve weeks, meeting twice weekly in the evenings. Classes start at 7 PM Mountain Time, which seems to work for most folks balancing jobs and families.
1
Foundation Phase
First four weeks cover financial statements and what they actually mean. You'll learn to spot red flags in company reports and understand why certain numbers matter more than others.
2
Analysis Methods
Weeks five through eight focus on valuation techniques. We break down different approaches and show you when each one makes sense to use — because context matters more than formulas.
3
Real Application
Final month puts everything together. You'll analyze actual companies, build investment theses, and present your findings. This part tends to be messy and that's exactly the point.
Who You'll Learn From
Our instructors have spent years working with Canadian investment firms and family offices. They've made their share of mistakes and learned from them, which makes for much better teaching than theory alone.
Callum Berge
Equity Research
Spent eleven years covering energy and materials sectors for institutional clients. Now focuses on teaching fundamental analysis without the jargon that usually comes with it.
Sienna Lydall
Financial Planning
Background in corporate finance and private wealth management. She's particularly good at explaining complex concepts through real examples that actually stick with you.
Magnus Firth
Portfolio Analysis
Former portfolio manager who worked through the 2008 crisis and several market corrections. His lessons on risk management come from experience, not textbooks.
Petra Solberg
Market Research
Works with Canadian pension funds analyzing market trends and company fundamentals. Brings a practical perspective on what matters when making investment decisions.
Our Approach to Learning
We don't believe in lecture-only formats. Each session includes hands-on work with real financial data. You'll make mistakes, get feedback, and improve — that's how this stuff actually sinks in.
Classes are capped at eighteen people because we've found that's the sweet spot for discussion without chaos. You'll work both individually and in small groups, depending on what we're covering that week.
By the end, you won't be an expert analyst. But you'll have solid foundational skills and know how to continue learning on your own.
